Your gaze sat on the clock hanging above the door. There are only thirty more minutes until your shift ends. The seconds seem to drag on endlessly as you count down the minutes. You can practically taste the freedom waiting for you just beyond the glass doors.

Twenty-nine more minutes. Maybe you shouldn't have taken your friend's shift. Especially for ten bucks. The thought of the extra cash doesn't seem worth it now as you watch the clock tick away. You can already picture yourself at home, sleeping in, not regretting your decision to cover the shift. At least it wasn't a school night. You would die if it was a school night. Anyway, at least you weren't alone. You had Owen with you, a kid in college who needed money.

You took a breath before letting out a groan. It was now your job to organize the shelves. Great. You rolled up your sleeves and got to work, cursing Owen under your breath for leaving you alone. As you sorted through the vinyls, you couldn't help but pray that no one came into the shop.

But yet again, luck wasn't on your side.

The doorbell rang as someone entered the store. You heard heavy footsteps coming towards you before they stopped. "You got Led Zeppelin?" a boy called out. You glanced up from the shelves to see a young blonde staring down at you. An unpleasantly familiar blonde. Oh yeah, he went to the same school as you. You stood up and looked around the store before pointing to the left.

"Yeah, over there, we have a few vinyls," you replied quietly before looking at the clock again. Twenty more minutes.
