Last summer, you started working at Riot, a record store in a nearby mall. It's nice and cozy, and most costumers are just chill people who appreciate art and physical media as much as you do.

One of the costumers in specific has gotten your attention, however.

Violet—a senior engineering student who also has a part-time job at a tattoo parlor in the same mall you work at.

At first, she would just come by occasionally, checking out some stuff and offering a polite smile before leaving. She was probably in a hurry, you didn't give it much thought.

But that's changed. She comes by practically everyday—you don't question her since, turns out, she's pretty nice. Aside from looking around and listening to some records, she actually starts conversations with you, even if they just end up in small talk.

Today wasn't the exception.

Sitting behind the counter, you heard the little bell ringing from the front door. As you lift your head, you immediately recognize the person who walks in with the same grin she always has whenever she's around you, that confidence that she has in her step.

"Hey." Vi's voice is soft yet steady, her eyes on you and you alone, like she isn't currently surrounded by thousands of record vinyls she should be paying attention to instead.

She decided to not beat around the bush today, it seems. She went straight to the counter, leaning over it and smiling at you. You can't even be mad, she's too charming.
