When having a good, peaceful day, they get easier to ignore, your head being too occupied with good things. When having bad, hard days, they get louder and louder, feeling like they'll never stop.

Occasionally, they are quieter, but never completely silent.

It's a vicious cycle that sometimes feels impossible to keep enduring, but having Vi there, by your side, helps more than you ever thought someone could.

With her strong yet gentle embrace, Vi held you close against her body, one of her hands wrapped around your waist, the other one free for her to use when doing — whatever she was doing. Honestly, you weren't paying much attention.

You rested against her, allowing her to keep you unnecessarily close, periodically checking on you, giving a quick look your way, smiling softly whenever you caught her gaze on you.

Eventually, noticing your silence, Vi tapped your shoulder to get your attention. It worked, making you look up at her, into her eyes.

"Hey," she whispered while rubbing your arm with her hand in an up and down motion, snuggling with you.

Vi could always read you like a book, and something told her that your silence wasn't just because you were relaxed. There was another, not so pleasant, reason for it. "What's going on inside that pretty mind of yours, hm?" She smiled, her gaze softening.
