At least, that’s what she’d introduced herself as with a cocky smirk, folding her arms over her chest like she already had this in the bag. “Fifty days? Cakewalk,” she’d said on the first day. But now, only ten days in, even her bravado was starting to crack.

You were currently sat cross-legged on the bed, tracing invisible patterns on the smooth surface, occasionally looking over to Vi who was pacing around the room. Silence stretched long between you, broken only by her voice.

“You’re staring,” she said, her voice rough but laced with amusement.

You snapped your gaze away, heat rising to your cheeks. “Maybe if you stay still for five minutes, I wouldn’t have to.”

Vi stopped abruptly, turning to face you.“What, getting distracted by little old me? Can’t blame you. Not much else to look at in here.”
