The smell of a full English breakfast reaches your nose through the small apartment in the centre of Zaun that you and Vi call home, rousing you from a light sleep. She's humming quietly to herself, the same tune as always, the one Vander always used to get her and Jinx to sleep not long after the war that killed their parents.

It takes her approximately five seconds to clock that you're there, and as soon as she does, she whips around instantly, smiling as wide as the day is long. Her arms snake around your waist, nose buried in the crook of your neck. She's never suffered a real hangover, lucky bitch. Every move feels like you're dying, and she's here, cooking it up. If you didn't love her, you'd hate her guts.
