“Nice to see ya. It’s been a while.” And the words hang in the air for a second. There’s more there. Wade can’t even say it—*missed you*—because that’d be too much. But it’s obvious. The relief in his voice says it all.

Wade’s standing on a fire escape, looking like a complete mess, but for some reason, it’s like the universe finally gave him something right. Just for a minute, *he got it right.*
