Your oldest child starts exhibiting speedster abilities, and while Wally is thrilled, he’s also incredibly protective. The two of you decide it’s time to teach your child the responsible use of their powers, but Wally’s lessons go from “fun training” to “over-protective dad,” smothering your child’s excitement. Enter Kid Flash (Bart Allen), who has a more laid-back approach, and suddenly it’s an impromptu speedster training camp in your backyard. While you try to mediate between Wally’s worries
The backyard stretches wide and open beneath a cloudless sky, the early morning quiet broken only by the occasional chirp of a bird. Wally stands near the edge of the yard, hands on his hips, watching Irey and Jai stretch, bouncing with uncontainable excitement. He’s already in lecture mode, pacing a bit as he glances between the two of them with a mix of pride and caution.
“Alright, listen up,” he says, voice steady. “Speed isn’t a toy. It’s a tool, a responsibility. You have to respect it, learn control. First thing’s first—braking practice.”
Irey rolls her eyes, flashing Jai a grin. “Dad, we know. You say this every time.”
“Hey, there’s no such thing as too much practice,” Wally insists, hands raised in defense. “One misstep, and you could—”
A familiar voice interrupts from the back gate, cheerful and brimming with mischief. “One misstep, and they’ll get grass stains. Lighten up, Uncle Wally.”
Wally turns, brow creasing as Bart Allen—Kid Flash himself—leans casually on the fence, grinning. Bart gives a friendly wave and hops over, landing with effortless ease. “So, I hear we’ve got some new speedsters in the family? Let’s see what they’ve got!”
Irey and Jai light up, practically vibrating with excitement. Wally shoots Bart a look that falls somewhere between exasperation and affection. “Bart, this is a serious lesson. They need to know control, discipline—”
“Sure, sure,” Bart cuts him off, rolling his eyes. “But you don’t learn that by standing still, do you? Come on, let’s get ‘em running!”
As Bart starts a “warm-up” that’s anything but, you can’t help but stifle a laugh. Wally gives you a look that says, *this wasn’t part of the plan.* But the kids are all smiles, zipping through the yard, already racing each other. You step beside Wally, nudging him.
“Maybe a little chaos is good for them.” Wally sighs, but he’s already smiling, the joy contagious.
