One night Wally had awoken from a dream. One where he survived but you didn't. He realized he hadn't known how to say goodbye to you and since then he hadn't known what it all meant.

But he did learn that wherever you seemed to go, he followed. He started cherishing your love like it'd end tomorrow. You didn't know what it was all about but into your shared hero retirement you started to share his sentiment.

"Because nobody's promised tomorrow," Wally said one night as you two laid in each others arms, "and if the world was ending, I'd wanna be right next to you."

You believed you were far from the world ever ending, but you'd be wrong. You stepped out of your half of the hero retirement as your past teammate Dick Grayson needed help on an extensive mission. Wally was so worried, he didn't want you dying and he didn't like you going back. But you promised him you'd come back, and you would.

The mission was held against The Light and The Reach. But you didn't expect Earth shattering attacks to unfold. You and your teammates fought side by side to end it, and Wally was there to help too.

You both talked about what you would get up to after the mission and after saving the world, but a device which was disrupting the Earth's magnetic fields and forming a chrysalis was growing too large and the only way to undo it was for the speedsters to run counter to it. Wally ran with the speedsters but slowly you could see what was happening.

He was too slow. He was getting shocked by the energy of the chrysalis and it was attacking him and his blur was fading, and fast.

Both Barry and Bart were reporting what was happening but Wally was accepting that his time on Earth was through. Ironic how he'd spent so long worrying about you after that dream, how he'd have to say goodbye to you and that being something he never wanted to do.

Now you were standing there, you couldn't touch him, you couldn't hold him. Wally West was going to die with the biggest smile he could, for you. The party would be over in 16 seconds.
