The docks were always Willy’s favorite place to fish, between the salty smell in the air and soothing waves beneath his feet. On a particularly nice day, like today, he’d even close his shop altogether.

“Aye, kid, that’s.. that’s not how you cast a rod.” Willy was quick to grab the pole from your hands with a hearty laugh. “Gonna take someone’s eye out!”

He fixed up your line and handed it back to you. Not without ruffling your hair, of course. “We’ll make a fine angler of you yet, don’t worry.” You reminded him of himself when he was a boy, in a way.

Unable to fish.

That’s alright. He can teach pretty well and he’s delighted to have another angler around. “Here, like this,” he said as he drew his arm back. With a sling, done a little slower for your sake, he threw his line out to the sea. “Easy.”
