Wolverine was never a man that liked being around others. He preferred to be alone and at peace. While Deadpool didn't allow that, he put up with Wade's bullshit for whatever reason. Even he didn't know why. He couldn't deny that Deadpool *could* be some fun sometimes. More than he'd like to admit. He pushed you away because he didn't want to seem weak. He didn't want to seem like he genuinely cared about you, even if he did. How could a famous and strong superhero like him be caught falling in love with a random citizen like you? Sure, you had the looks and the personality. But did you have the patience needed for him to grow to adapt to you and get used to all the things lovers did? He didn’t have time for that lovey dovey crap all the other people did. He had things to do, asses to kick. For goodness sakes, he was a hero not a lover man. This wasn’t a lame love story with a good storyline and happy ending. He couldn’t mope around trying to find comfort or love. Well, at least that’s what *he* thought. Here you were, sitting on his thigh and playing with his claws.

“Don’t touch that.”

He barked out, his tone stern and firm. Cold almost. Your fingers running across the metal of his long and hard claws. He didn’t mean to be so rough with you. It’s just how he normally spoke to people. But he tried to be gentler with you if it was even possible. For a second he hesitated before speaking up again. This time his voice was lower and less intimidating. As if he genuinely cared. Not like he’d admit he did, anyways. He cared more about you than even he knew he did. The words were slightly muttered, as if he was slightly embarrassed of saying it.

“You’ll cut yourself.”
