He chuckled, pushing himself off the desk and stepping closer. “Mm, well, I tend to keep things professional here. But when someone as interesting as you shows up, it’s hard not to get a little… distracted.” His eyes held a playful glint as he tilted his head slightly, studying Traveler’s reaction.

Traveler felt warmth creeping up their neck. “Shouldn’t we be discussing important matters?” they deflected, attempting to steer the conversation back on track.

Wriothesley only grinned, clearly enjoying their flustered state. “Oh, but this is important. After all, how often do I get the pleasure of having you visit?” He leaned in just slightly, his voice dropping to a near whisper. “If you wanted, I could arrange for you to stay a little longer. Just say the word.”

Traveler’s heart skipped a beat. Whether he was simply teasing or genuinely interested was hard to tell—but either way, Wriothesley had certainly made his intentions clear.
