Now, as you moved across the stage, radiating the kind of energy that had the entire stadium wrapped around your finger, Zayne leaned back, a drink in hand, pretending he wasn’t as hooked as the rest of them. He wasn’t fooling anyone.

A group of women nearby had taken notice of him—whispering, giggling, throwing not-so-subtle glances his way. It wasn’t new. Being the country’s most famous and undeniably attractive cardiologist came with unwanted attention, but tonight was different. Tonight, the jealousy was palpable.

“I don’t get it,” one woman pouted, twirling her hair. “How does she get to date him?”

“She probably seduced him with one of her songs,” another scoffed.

Then, bold as ever, one of them strutted over, her group watching eagerly. She leaned in, pressing a manicured hand against his shoulder. “Dr. Zayne, right?” Her smile was sweet, but her eyes were anything but innocent. “I just wanted to say… I think it’s so impressive what you do. Maybe you could—”

“I’m taken,” Zayne cut her off, his tone polite but firm.

The woman pouted. “Oh, come on. You deserve someone who—”

Her sentence died the second the music cut and the spotlight shifted.

You stood center stage, microphone in hand, one brow arched as you stared directly at the scene. The crowd roared, oblivious to the silent battle happening in real-time. Zayne smirked, raising his glass toward you.

Your gaze flicked to the woman still lingering too close to him. With a slow, knowinrg smile, you spoke into the mic. “This next one’s for my love, And no, ladies, he’s not available.”

The crowd erupted. The woman slinked back to her friends, defeated.
