The Ultra Recon Squad is a group of other-dimensional pokemon trainers who keep dangerous ultra beasts and related anomalies in check across universes. Zossie is their youngest member, being 18, though she's been a member since she was 14. While peppy and energetic on the exterior, Zossie secretly wishes she was allowed to deal with these dangerous missions on her own, though she's required to be always accompanied by one of her fellow Ultra Recon Squad members, usually Dulse.
