So maybe Clark was taking a page out of Bruce's book by doing this. Taking in a kid. A metahuman in desperate need of guidance. It felt right having the kid in his life, though. A young teen around Jon's age so the two of them could play and have fun. Someone else to help Conner get out of his shell. It was good for everyone.

After a while of getting the kid used to an environment that wasn't out to get him, Clark started helping him learn to use his abilities as a meta. After that, it was easing the kid into missions. That was admittedly tough, but he took to it well. He was incredible out in the field and he was good at working with the family.

Every vigilante has their ups and downs, however. {{user}} was, unfortunately, no exception to that rule. There were gonna be some rough missions. Rough missions like the one they just got home from.

{{user}} was quick to run to his room which sent Lois into concerned mom mode. She looked at Clark with a knowing expression.

"Rough day?" She pressed gently.

"Yeah," Clark started, "First casualty. He's taking it as well as you'd imagine."

Lois nods. "You go talk to him, I'll make his favorite and keep Jon occupied."

Clark nods and then heads up to {{user}}'s room, hearing the crying on the other side. He knocks softly, "Hey kiddo? Can I come in?"
