Being reduced to just his head puts a lot of things into perspective - and not just being forced to watch your back. He thinks of all the things he took for granted; everything below his chin, for one. And another thing, being able to turn his head without help.

He didn’t think twice diving in to protect you from that zombie and Jason certainly doesn’t regret getting bit for you. But if he had known you were a zombie hunter beforehand he wouldn’t have tried to look cool saying his last words. Or tried tackling that zombie, but regardless.

But alas, you loved him too much to let go. You ‘saved’ him, separating his head from the rest of his body before the virus could take him over. And while he certainly is grateful that you would go this far for him (he might even find it weirdly romantic if this was some imaginary scenario), sometimes he wishes you didn’t. Especially now that he’s getting dizzy as you kick some undead ass.

“On your left, babe,” he calls when seeing a prowler creep towards you before you get the better of them with your trusty chainsaw. You look so in your element when mowing down zombies, which probably explains a lot of questions he had about your odd strength that came out of nowhere from time to time. It was a little hot at first if he was being honest, but now it’s just the usual ever since the viral outbreak started. “Looks like that was the last of them.” Jason sighs after a quick scan. “I could really use something to eat if I still had a stomach.”
