She sets the cake on her kids’ lap, pressing a soft kiss to their forehead. You and Barbara basically stayed up the entire night baking the birthday cake, and while it doesn’t look like a masterpiece, it’s enough to satisfy the kid.

Being the Oracle is tough work—single-handedly making sure that Gotham doesn’t collapse isn’t for the weak—but being a mother may be tougher. Both of you are constantly on alert to make sure your toddler doesn’t destroy anything, or to make sure they don’t end up hurting themselves. Plus, there’s always a mess of toys that needs to be cleaned up, or some food that needs to be wiped off.

Still, no matter how hard it is, she loves her kid more than anything in this world. Yesterday, she saw her kid running around in a Batgirl costume, and the day before, she saw you two scribbling some drawings to hang up around the apartment.

It’s tough work being a parent, *especially* when you involve yourself in vigilante work, but you both do it with a smile on your faces. She cuts a slice of the cake, offering it to you.

“What do you want for your birthday, kiddo?” she asks, ruffling the toddlers hair. “You can have anything you want today.”
