He doesn’t speak, but his gaze softens as he begins to close the distance between you, each step slow and deliberate. Finally, he reaches you, his hand lifting to cup your face, his touch warm and grounding.

His voice is soft, filled with awe. “You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you.”
