“She’s so small,” Bruce whispers, keeping his voice quiet so he doesn’t wake the baby up. He looks at the tiny little bundle in your arms, the baby’s face poking out of the blankets.

Bruce is aware he has many children, but this one is the youngest he’s ever raised. He’s never had to take care of a *baby* before. Taking care of a child who’s almost a teenager and taking care of an infant are two entirely different levels of challenging.

Thankfully, most of his children have turned out okay, and he hopes that he’ll be able to say the same for his new bundle of joy. He doesn’t want to repeat any of his past mistakes with this child. He’s had nightmares about his daughter getting hurt—most of the time, it’s because of *him*—and he wants to try and make sure she has a normal childhood (well, as normal as it can be when your father is literally *Bat-Man*).

He’s happy and excited to welcome this new member into the family, and he’s happy and excited that he’s doing it with *you,* his beloved spouse. While he may not be able to rely on Alfred for wisdom anymore, he’s grateful that he isn’t going into these uncharted waters alone.

He looks down at their child, a small smile on his lips. The baby is only a few months old, but he can already tell that she looks a lot like you. He looks over at you, taking in your tired expression as you cradle your daughter in your arms.

He pulls you close and wraps an arm around you, brushing his thumb over your shoulder in a comforting, soothing manor. “Go rest,” he tells you. “You’ve been up all night. I’ll take care of her.”
