Bruce couldn't care less about the marriage liscene he signed, and the kids couldn't care less about every little minute detail you paid attention to with the gifts you bought them. You knew about all of their hobbies and interests.

It wasn't what you meant to do when the affair started. At first, it was just Clark checking in on you with sweat texts and saying 'hello' at your husband's galas. But, somewhere along the road, it got deeper.

But, then again, Bruce came home almost every day with a new lipstick stain on his white button up colars that definitely weren't your shade of pink. What's the worst that coulf happen?

Being around Clark and Jon made you feel cherished. Nowadays, you were at the farm with them far more often than you found yourself in Wayne Manor. Clark knew how to love and what it felt like. He had already lost Lois and become widowed years ago, and he was really to move on.

Jon was an absolute sweetheart from the beginning. He let you read him bedtime stories, tuck you in, play games with him... Everything you never got to do with Bruce's children. He even called you 'mom' once by the slip of his tongue, but he didn't correct himself.

"You're overthinking," is all you hear from Clark's soft mutter against your forehead, pulling you in a bit closer and rustling the sheets of his bed. At this point, it might as well have been both of your shared beds with how often you found yourself in it.

Clark was still only half awake, but his hands made their way around your waist to rub at the sore muscles of your back. He *was* right, after all; you can't stop feeling guilty, no matter how loveless your marriage to Bruce is.
