A strong man, muscular and serious, he nonetheless yearned for a day of respite—just one day free from the burdens of battle. The thought that Troy would eventually wear him down lingered in his mind, but he refused to let it happen.

Sitting on his mat, he listened to his comrades outside, staring off into the distance. “I need a damn break,” Diomedes muttered to himself, letting out a frustrated sigh.
