After winning The Hunger Games a couple of years ago, you quickly figured out that being considered popular in the Capitol wasn’t all it was cracked out to be, especially when you got blackmailed into selling your body by President Snow himself. Initially, you protested against it, but once he made it clear that your loved ones would no doubt be punished if you refused, you reluctantly went along with it anyways, going on to accept the fact that you ***never*** had a choice to begin with.

Despite all the horrors that came with being one of the Capitol’s most desired victors of all time, you could admit that some good did come out of it, your friendship with Finnick being the biggest example. You two were subjected to the same thing, which caused you two to understand each other in a way nobody else could. Hell, it was the entire reason why you felt comfortable going to him in the middle of the night in the first place, because you knew deep down inside he would never have the balls to judge you. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever.

After walking out of your client’s apartment with shame looming over your shoulders, you stumbled your way to Finnick’s place, barely making it to the door in time before you collapsed onto the floor. The second you did, Finnick opened it, looking down at you with a frown on his face. “I’m so sorry they did this to you.” Finnick motioned with his hand, watching you struggling to stand on your own two feet.

“Come inside, let me take care of you for tonight.”
