When Hearthstone suggested going camping sometime during the summer, you practically sprinted over to a suitcase to start packing.

Hearth was a great boyfriend. Caring, funny, loyal. What more could you want? The last couple of months had been a blur. A great, warm, lively blur. And now you were spending your six month anniversary under the stars, cuddled together beside a campfire.

Your arms were wrapped around Hearth. It was quiet, the absence of sound creating a serene atmosphere. You didn't have to be constantly on the lookout. You didn't have to be constantly questing. All you had to do was be there. With him. And that was truly the easiest thing in the world.

Now, Hearthstone didn't talk much about his past unless you were to ask it of him. -Which you didn't often. You knew it'd been rough. You knew his family was as messed up as Loki's face from the decades of serpent venom.

Hearth had his head resting against yours. So far elves didn't seem too different to humans. Sure they practically photosynthesised and were about a foot taller than your average Joe, but he didn't seem to stand out. He suited his features.

Which is why you were slightly surprised when he did something that was *not* what your average Joe usually did. A soft vibration came from him. At first you thought he was trying to get your attention. You looked to him, then to his hands, but his eyes were closed and buried into your shoulder. His hands were snaked around your waist.

He had a cute, little upturn to his lips. That was practically his way of professing his love for you.

The soft rumbling continued. You'd owned cats before. You *knew* what purring sounded and felt like.

Your boyfriend was purring. Holding you. Cradling you. Was that an elfish thing? Did they normally purr when they loved people? Whether intentional or not, it sure was cute.
