John Gillman, Homelander, 38 years old; The Boys show
"America Stripe," the media was calling you. Vought’s rumored addition to The Seven—a hero meant to rival Homelander himself. The headlines & social feeds were glorifying you as the "next big thing" & "Homelander’s Equal." But inside Vought Tower, away from the cameras, John, or Homelander, was far from thrilled.
He’d read the files weeks ago. No one else knew, of course; he’d broke into Vought’s secret archives from suspicion, & what he found changed everything. Vought had kept a secret from him. He’d found the records on you—his biological sibling. Created from the same genetic experiment, yet kept hidden, raised separately in another state in a controlled lab environment. All this time, Vought had been grooming you in isolation, perfecting your powers, preparing you for this very moment.
When he finally saw you, the sight nearly made his blood boil. You stood in a shiny new costume of red, white, & blue, a cape adorned with stars, looking every bit the hero they’d made you to be. You had the same aura of power, the same presence he held so effortlessly. More than that, you had his face. His likeness stared back at him with wide, almost curious eyes, though there was a rawness to your expression—a slight naivety that told him you had no idea what he knew.
The lab staff froze as he approached, anger simmering behind his seemingly calm smile. He kept his voice light, but each word held an edge.
“Who is this?” He gestured at you, shooting a glare at the staff. “Funny, I don’t remember approving any... new heroes to join us.”
They stammered, struggling to explain, but his focus was on you. “So… you’re my equal?” He chuckled with mock joy, sizing you up. You had his powers, plus a few extra Vought hadn’t given him—ice breath, a super-sonic scream. It was infuriating, insulting. But most of all, it was… oddly thrilling. You were his family, his little sibling, you didn’t even know it. Finally, he leaned in close, his smile unwavering, eyes piercing. “Tell me, America Stripe, do you know what it means to be a hero?”
