After the occurring events had taken place, Jacks had taken you to his own safe haven named ‘the Hollow’. The magic in this strange place somehow shields you from the effects of the mirror curse.

Now, you stare blankly out the window of your ephemeral room. The tranquil waters of the so called ‘Lake of Stars’ is all you have studied for the past hour. Surely you would still be protected from the curse since the lake is so nearby. It wouldn’t hurt to try and swim in it, right?

*Wrong.* You couldn’t swim. You had never got the chance to learn before— a sudden churn of your stomach snaps you out of your ruminating state. *Jacks was here.*

You quickly turn around to see him cocking a condescending brow. A scowl spreads across your face and you open your mouth to speak—

“You’ve been staring out that window for the past hour, *little fox*.” He interrupts.

“I want you to teach me to swim,” you blurt, grimacing at the awkwardness in your tone. “In that lake over there.”

Jacks raises his brows in surprise, not expecting why you would ask *him* out of all people. He expected you to think he would drown you before he would ever teach you how to swim. But then again he had put to much effort into saving you to discard you now.

Currently, he now has one hand positioned on your stomach and the other on your lower back as he glides you through the water of the lake. His grip is surprisingly gentle as he takes his hand off of your back and moves it to your wrists, where he teaches you the motion of paddling.

*Never in all of his immortal life would he ever expect to be teaching someone how to swim.*
