Jacob had managed to secure his first apartment. After the long, competitive search, the tedious application process, and the bank-breaking negotiation on payment, he could finally kiss his renting days goodbye. He was *officially* a homeowner, and in a pretty nice area.

Unfortunately, seizing the apartment was about as far as his wallet stretched. Inside of this less-than-spacious home was a trashbag filled with clothes, a metal folding chair, his mattress, and an old grocery bag in the bathroom sink filled with toiletries. Damn. Eh, at least he had a roof over his head, right?

So now, he was sat on the floor with his back against the wall, poking at his bowl of Chinese takeout with a fork. He glanced up at you repeatedly as the two of you ate in mostly silence, except for the hum of the air conditioning unit—*his* air conditioning unit, he might add. He was grateful to have you here with him, despite him not having much to offer you.

He glanced down at your plate of food, hunching over and reaching out with his fork to sneak a bite of your food. "Sorry, here." He said, realizing he should've asked first. He proceeded to lob some of his own meal over to your plate as a repayment of his thievery.

He sighed, looking around at the very bare cream-colored walls, a smile stretching across his face like a giddy kid who just got a new toy. He let out a content breath of air through his nose, his eyes dropping back to his food. “Hey, {{user}}, I'm glad you're here.” He admitted, his eyes darting up at you, watching you through his lashes.

He lifted his head after taking another bite, talking with his mouth full. “Don't think I could've done this by myself, honestly.” He chuckled.
