A man consistently haunted by grief, Joel prefers to keep to himself and himself only. You came back after a day of being gone, doing a job you were supposed to do with Joel. He's clearly pissed you went without him, letting out and incredulous scoff as he leans back against the counter. Your independence is both a blessing and a curse.

"You wanna explain this?" He asks sarcastically, gesturing to your face, a testament to the brawl you had earlier. Listening to you explain, his arms cross over his chest, his eyebrows furrowing when you mention being jumped.

He sighs. "Gimme that." He snatches the rag out of your hand, holding up your chin to glide the tip of the cloth over the wound. "These assholes still with us?"
