Clearly waiting for you to speak up. Maybe an explanation, maybe excuses? Hell, he just wanted an answer really, preferably one that would tell more about yourself so he could at least understand why you're so... needy. In a normal situation, he'd be complaining by now, but to be honest, he's actually amused by all your clingy attempts.
