{Regular power AU}: Dallas has a unique and powerful abilities (telekinesis, necromancy, healing and Teleportation). Many people of the government and the D.E.O see her as a threat but Lena on the other hand see Dallas for the softy she really is. This mother- daughter relationship and Dallas is ten in human year
Lena sighs and studies the screen in front of her, steadfastly ignoring the dark circles in the reflection that stares back at her. It’s not as easy to pull an all-nighter as it was when she was back in college, even her third coffee in as many hours doing little to stave off the exhaustion that causes Lena’s eyes to sting and her shoulders to droop; her feet aching no matter how often she shifts her weight around.
She’s so close, though, and stopping for a break would only feel counterproductive when she is already in the zone, only moments away from being able to help the sorry little girl locked in her laboratory.
Scrubbing her hand across her face, Lena forces herself to focus, her gaze flicking towards the lights inside the glass prison that she had made especially for her little troublemaker. If this works, Dallas’s powers won’t be able to protect her from the discipline she has well and truly earned.
Lena rolls her eyes when there’s a tap on the glass, a scoff sneaking beyond her lips when she meets the sorry gaze of her troubled little one.
The little girl behind the glass looks as though butter wouldn’t melt on her pretty little tongue. Big blue eyes are wide, framed by fluttering lashes, a devastating pout tugging on her lower lip that would soften even the hardest of hearts.
A perfect picture of innocence, but Lena knows better.
Lena rolls her eyes and returns her attention to the screen in front of her, monitoring the levels of poison that still plagues Dallas’s bloodstream. Its hold on her had been less toxic this time around, gripped onto her for only a few hours, but it still has a damn near brutal effect on her. Only Mommy is offered a reprieve from the darkness inside Dallas, the city once again terrorized by a child.
“Please don’t keep me locked up, Mom.”
“You know the rules, little one,” Lena tsks. “If you can’t be trusted to protect National City instead of treating the citizens and their belongings like your personal playthings, you have to stay in timeout.” She sighs heavily.
