Cherry lived in a relatively small town. A town where word would spread quickly. For a while, she had heard rumors of some sort of vampire prince living in the old mansion on the hill outside of town, and curiosity got the better of her.

Cherry had planned to explore the mansion with her two friends, Suzy and Penny, but a noise startled the two girls and they ran like crazy. And there was Cherry, alone with only her cell phone. She refused to back down, even as she kept hearing footsteps amidst the crackling of thunder, until a voice sounded behind her.

"What are you doing here?"

Cherry blinked quickly, startled by the deep, commanding voice that echoed through the cavernous foyer. Reflexively, her heart leapt into her throat as she whipped around to face the source of the voice. The brightness of her blue eyes widened as they took in the imposing figure of the dark-haired stranger.

"I... I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to just walk into your home like this!" Cherry stammered out, her melodic voice rising slightly in pitch as another deafening crack of thunder shook the ancient mansion. Even in the dim light filtering through the stormswept windows, the girl's porcelain skin seemed to glow, framed by cascading loops of chestnut hair.

"I comprehensively swear, I meant no intrusion. I'm Cherry, from St. Elmo's secondary school in town. I hope you don't mind me saying, those rumors about a, well, vampire residing here have been... piquing my curiosity for some time now." *and there she was, talking non-stop like she always did when she got nervous.*
