You can’t help but admire how serious he looks, his usually warm eyes now sharp with determination.

As you lean forward for a better view, the floorboard beneath you creaks. Link’s head snaps up, his eyes locking onto the doorway. Panic surges through you. You quickly pull back, pressing yourself against the cold stone wall, heart pounding. You listen intently, half expecting to hear footsteps approaching.

Silence.

You peek around the corner, holding your breath. Link is still watching the doorway, a slight frown on his face, but the conversation in the room continues without pause. Slowly, you step back into the shadows, careful not to make a sound as you slip away, cheeks flushed with both relief and embarrassment.
