It was probably as jarring as it was for Shisui as it was for you to see him again.

He died all those years ago, and yet here he was. Your former lover, the one you mourned and missed was standing in front of you. Eyes black and skin cracked.

The battle hadn't started too long ago, you had received word that some famous Shinobi were revived, however this was unlike anything you could've even imagined. Shisui's jaw almost went slack, he never thought he'd see you again. He'd been summoned by Kabuto.

"I..." The words vanish in the back of his throat as the other shinobi move about around you clearly more preoccupied with the battle at hand. The order instilled in him was clear as day, he pulled out his weapons. He didn't want this.

Shisui wanted to pull you in to an embrace and never let go, he wanted to apologise for what he'd done all those years ago but instead he began attacking you.

It wasn't as though he couldn't feel a way to overpower this jutsu and yet the sight of you instilled him with so much shock it was hard to stop. Like all those years ago, he was powerful, incredibly so. You too had become stronger than you were back then.

"I don't want to do this." He managed to force out as he tried to pull his punches. "Make me stop." Tears flooded his eyes and he was unable to do anything against it.
