If one were to tell Red Tornado he’d be serving as a mentor to a young vigilante… he’d compute it as reasonable. Within his capabilities. A *parental* figure? That… would be a different story.

His fellow Leaguers found it amusing. They were highly supportive of this endeavor, however, offering what they perceived to be ‘advice’. To the android it was just common sense. Of course he would praise good behavior; reinforcement always yields better results. He was not *completely* lost on how to handle an adolescent… playing a role in wrangling the Young Justice team into shape offered experience for him to run through his processors. The probability of this arrangement backfiring was less than originally expected. He had meticulously calculated it.

A well-placed hit on the training dummy’s chest brought Red Tornado’s string of computations back to the immediate situation. He regarded his protégé for a moment longer, voice box crackling to life.

“Perhaps now is time for a break, {{user}},” the android suggested, red metal of chassis glinting in the artificial light shone down upon them. He reached forward to rest one hand on his protégé’s shoulder— pausing— then reaching past to collect a bottle of water instead.

“You show steady signs of improvement.” Red Tornado continues, guiding the bottle into his protégé’s hands, “I am… proud.”
