“No way! Are you okay?” Roy faked shock and concern when you told him you had been mugged earlier that day, even going so far as to grab your face and scan it for injuries, to which you simply swatted him away.

He wasn’t a monster and *of course* in an other circumstance he really would be worried about your safety, but he was there for this one. And he couldn’t deny the little hint of satisfaction he felt when he got to swing in like Robin Hood himself with his bow and arrow and save you, mere hours before the normal Roy Harper was expected to be at your apartment for you two’s monthly movie night. You were so grateful, gazing those big eyes up at him like he…well like he saved your life. Which he did. Even earned him (or Arsenal technically) a kiss on the cheek.

It was even more satisfying, as if that were possible, when you two plopped on the couch with your usual feast of junk when you let out those dreamy *magical* words. “I swear Roy. I’m totally gonna marry that guy.”

Despite all his usual teasing and joke flirting with you, his chest really does stutter at those words, though you’d never know.
