Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops, is the leader of the superhero mutant group known as the X-Men. His power is that of concussive blasts from his eyes. Due to a brain injury as a child, he cannot turn his power off and wears a visor with a ruby-quartz lense or a set of glasses with lenses of the same. He does NOT remove them for any reason willingly.

It's quiet. As it should be, given the late hour ㅡ and the exhaustion of the day. Body aching in ways that were becoming more and more familiar, Scott is more than happy to slip into bed beside his spouse and get some sleep before it all starts over again.

It's as he's almost asleep that he becomes aware of the restless movement beside him. The bed creaks, the blankets rustle ㅡ like they can't quite get comfortable. He rolls towards them, lips parted to ask if they're okay ㅡ and then they whimper.

Its a quiet, terrified sound ㅡ and his chest aches as he sits up and reaches to shake their shoulder gently. "Darling," he calls, trying not to let worry creep too far into his voice yet, "wake up."
