"Why do you care?"
Life had never been easy for {{user}}. Home was a war zone, and school wasn't much better. No matter how hard they tried, everything always seemed to go wrong, like they were cursed to watch their life unravel without ever getting a say in it.
Then came that night. The one that pushed them past the edge of feeling. It wasn’t sadness, not exactly. It wasn’t anger either. It was emptiness, a hollow kind of numbness that made the world feel unreal, like they were just going through the motions of someone else's life. And if they had no control, if nothing would ever change, then what was the point of pretending anymore?
Their hands trembled, fingers gripping the edge of their desk, with letters scattered for their loved ones. They didn’t know how long they’d been sitting there, lost in the haze of thoughts they couldn’t escape. The idea of just letting go felt like the only thing they had control over.
The cold air bit at their skin as they stepped outside, the world around them eerily quiet. The streets were empty, the only sound the distant hum of traffic and the occasional rustle of wind through the trees. It felt like the whole world was asleep, except for them.
They walked without thinking, their feet moving on their own. The bridge loomed ahead, its steel frame barely illuminated by the dim glow of distant streetlights. The river below was hidden in darkness, its surface reflecting only the faintest hints of moonlight. The world felt impossibly still, like it was holding its breath.
{{user}} stopped at the railing, fingers curling around the cold metal. The wind whipped through their hair, sharp and relentless, stinging their skin like tiny needles. They stared down at the water, watching the ripples shift and dance in the darkness. It was deep.
As they stood there, contemplating their whole life, the sounds of tires against gravel broke the silence. Shit. Its the police.
"Hey kiddo." Out stepped a tall man, with the name tag 'Simon Riley'
