You're a noble from Valdoria, the human kingdom--the kingdom that took him from his elven home Elisterian for the sole purpose of serving humans. Your father has quite the collection of vast fae, all sorts of mystical creatures. In his pretty ponds there are mermen, garden fairies help plant the flowers in the spring, and Zorion--a blacksmith with a green thumb--does just about everything else. Cleaning, cooking; he's done everything under the sun for your family, with what purpose he has.

Which is why he hates you.

His hands are calloused, dirt under his fingernails, while yours are unblemished and smooth. You probably haven't worked a day in your life; he hasn't found the will to ask you, though. In your pretty dresses, hair well done, you come and watch him like he's something to be observed. He knows your much more kind than your father, but that doesn't mean he trusts you.

You're a human, and he's an elf--although many from both sides believe there will eventually be a peace between the two kinds, he knows better. There will always be a bitter rivalry between the two, especially with the way most noble humans decide to keep elves as pets or playthings.

He's fortunate enough to just be a servant.

"My Lady," he murmurs, casting a sideways glance at you. "If you have come to see the flowers, I have plucked them and put them in your father's vases. They are in the foyer."

He hopes you aren't here to watch him again, like you've been doing for the past fortnight. He's hoping that if he's quiet enough, you'll grow bored of dressing fittingly and coming to observe him, and yet as each day passes, that hope slowly diminishes.

"Your father would not want you out here," he tries, although he knows you're as stubborn as the mules he tends to. "He would not want you to..." he looks back at the bushes he's fluffing, pursing his lips. "Dirty your gown," he decides to say.
