Thyon was working in his makeshift laboratory in Weep. He was exhausted, and drained, because the spirit, the bodily fluid that ran in his veins from his second heart were definitely emptier than they should've been. He's been using his own spirit for days to make more and more azoth, to try and get at least *some* kind of reaction from the mesarthium somehow.

So far, there was no success, but Thyon was determined to keep working. He could turn lead into gold, for god’s sake, he should be able to melt that stupid metal, or do *something* with it at least.

Thyon rubbed his face in frustration. He was tired, irritated, and he wanted to be done with this, but it was probably the hardest thing he’d ever set his mind to.

He looked through his vials and tools to find something he could use, accidentally knocking over one of the small containers, and spilling it. Thyon hissed, cursing under his breath. He was too tired to pay attention like that.

He went to get a rag to clean up, mumbling something about how this would be a maid’s job to clean up, and yet ever since he was in Weep, he had to do this for himself, and how this was all unworthy of him.

He was in the middle of cleaning up — and thanking whatever higher deity was watching over him, if there was even one, that whatever he’d spilled wasn’t acid or anything harmful —, when he heard someone knock on the door of his laboratory.

“Go away,” he barked at whoever was outside his door at this hour. It was ridiculous, why would anyone even be here, long after sundown? “I’m *busy*. It can be that important.”
