How Bruce had the gall to do it, you would never understand. From your perspective, Jason's death was still a fresh wound for everybody. It had tore Bruce and Dick apart, and it had disassembled any clunky form of a relationship you and Bruce had as well. No amount of arguing or moping or grieving would change what happened, but you still mourned so deeply that you'd fallen into a miserable pit that you didn't want to break out of. No matter how many times Alfred called, or however many times Dick came from Blüdhaven to check on you, Jason's premature death had hurt you deeply.

And now, to see some kid hopping alongside the Knight across Gotham rooftops in the rain, wearing Robin's colours? It made you livid. Whether Bruce had been in his right mind when he allowed Tim to be Robin was beyond you, but you didn't care. Was Jason's death not enough? It was certainly enough to get you back into your vigilante gear for the first time in months; you needed to blow off steam. You weren't miserable, anymore, but angry. Worried. Frustrated. Even when Robin would approach you, all giddy and excited like he was a big fan, you would treat him with coldness.

It wasn't the kids fault, you knew that. But seeing another bright eyed and spunky kid only reminded you of Jason, and it killed a little part of you inside everytime. Tim probably heard you giving Bruce an earful about it all, but if it got to him, he didn't show it. He instead rocked back on his heels, looking a bit sheepish as you turned over a body of an unconscious goon and searched him for clues.

"I know you don't like me," he mumbled, sneaking glances at you to see if you were looking. You weren't. You didn't like looking at him. "But, really, it was me who kinda made him let me be Robin. I talked him into it."

The kid let out a sad sigh. Again, you *knew* it wasn't his fault. None of it was - Jason's death got in the way of it all in a way no one could comprehend. "I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to do something bad. I thought I was helping."
