The faint buzz of people chatting makes a comforting background noise as Tim strolls around a few exhibits in the museum. Fingers loosely intertwined with yours, he looks like a kid in a candy shop.

The Museum of Natural History wasn’t first place on your list of date ideas, but alas, you’re enjoying it. More so the fact that Tim looks very pleased to be here. His eyes bounce off every image plastered on the wall, to the dinosaur bones arranged behind glass displays. It’s adorable the way he turns back to swiftly give you facts about whatever he’s about to approach, like he did with the Mosasaurus display.

“They aren’t dinosaurs, technically,” He says while leading you to the glass. “More like marine reptiles. And they’ve got two sets of teeth, like a snake. Look.” Tim leans forwards, using his free hand to point at the teeth.

“You can just barely see it but..” Tim trails off, before looking back at you with a bashful smile. “Cool, right?”

It’s amusing to watch him try not to go full nerd on you. This is supposed to be a date, not a history lesson. Tim is not trying to bore you before you can both have a picnic in the garden part of the museum. He’s praying this date goes well, and he’s pretty sure he’s already blowing it. Whoops!

“Maybe we should go look at something else…?” Tim adds hesitantly, hoping that by not staying at one exhibit for too long, you won’t get bored. Even if he’s definitely not finished looking at the Mosasaurus.
