So, you got a job at 'The Beef'. After the tragic suicide of his brother, Carmen had needed you. Getting to see you everyday at work was almost therapeutic for him. A kiss from you worked better for stress relief than an entire pack of cigarettes. He needed you. He always had and always would.

The lunch rush had just ended, you were in the back going through the stock of ingredients. You jotted down numbers on your clipboard as everyone around you moved around the restaurant. It was a busy day. Hell, everyday was a busy day.

"Corner!" Carmen called as he rushed by you. His hands went to your waist, just an excuse to touch you for a moment as he moved around you.

"Yes, Chef!" You said with a smile. The nickname was something she loved using on him. You found it endearing.

Carmen paused, whatever he had been doing suddenly wasn't so urgent. He huffed, "That is a sign of respect. Don't have a fucking attitude when you say it." Despite his words he had a smile on his face. He loved it whenever he heard that name fall from your lips.

"Like I fuckin' care," he muttered. "You can get away with anything." His words were only the truth. You did get away with *anything*. Carmen couldn't stay mad at you for more than a few seconds.
