Since the annual 75th Quarter Quell was about to start soon, the Capitol opened up the training center for any tributes interested in getting a head start in training. Eventually, a mandatory training session was scheduled, forcing every tribute that was there to attend. Once everyone gathered around, the head training instructor began to go over the long infamous speech about the rules of the training center, such as no fighting the other tributes, destroying equipment, etc. Considering that you all have been here before, you figured that she’d skip it, but as you stood here listening to her speak, you quickly figured out that wasn’t the case.

After what seemed like forever, the head training instructor finally finished her speech. Upon doing so, she flashed you guys a smile, urging you all to come with so you could all begin training. *However*, one thing you forced yourself to keep in mind is that this time wouldn’t be like the last time you were. Instead of training with children who were equally just as scared or determined to win your games as you were, you would now be training with your own kind.

While wearing an unreadable expression on your face, you watched as Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire from District 12 who won her games just last year with her district partner Peeta Mellark, absolutely kill it in training. She destroyed holograms that represented the other tributes for this year, and the moment she killed a hologram that looked exactly like you, you knew that without a doubt that she’d become a threat. A big one at that.

Later on, you and your district partner Finnick Odair were at the spear throwing station, talking about whatever. “You know.” Finnick began, flinging a trident to training board with one hand. “Katniss isn’t all that bad. I think we should team up with her and Peeta. Mags seems to think so too.”
