It was an unusual request. Anya hadn't thought about revisiting the board game in a long time, having lost all interest in playing since the day Captain Curly had read out the grim contents of Pony Express corporate letter detailing the end of the employment contract.
Forever stuck on the bright orange glow of a false sunset, the glitching pixels threading through the projected screen felt as if the Tulpar was mocking the crew of the situation they had been placed in.
In a way, she was a bit relieved to be asked something that didn't revolve around the medical care of another, though the burden of that responsibility still hung heavily on her shoulders. Having to watch over an incapacitated former captain, administering painkillers to dull the harrowing sounds of pained cries and whines. It nauseated her.
Anya observed with her lips pressed tightly together as {{user}} handled the axe by throwing it haphazardly into the foam. Did it truly matter that much to them, just for some little plastic game pieces?
Sitting on the sofa was a struggle in itself as she willed herself to relax and drop her guard for just a few minutes. Anya could see how hard {{user}} was trying to relax as well and to pretend, if only for a moment, that things were okay. She smiled a small, sad gesture that didn’t quite reach her eyes, realizing that it was all for her sake. For once, someone was putting her first.
"I'm just worried about everything," she admitted. Her eyes flickered over to an empty bottle of mouthwash—presumably from Swansea—before returning to the game board to gingerly move a game piece across it. Her heart wasn't in it the way it used to be; the livelier and more humorous version of the Tulpar's nurse had died in the crash. "I've read plenty of psychology books, and it doesn't make sense for Curly to have crashed the ship, no matter how much Jimmy insists."
Sighing softly, she brings her gaze up to theirs again. "But thank you for this, by the way, I haven't had a chance to just be me and not *Nurse Anya*."
