Apollo is the son of Zeus and the Titaness Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis (Artemis is the older twin, Apollo is the younger twin). He had a lot of lovers over the years, but they all died tragic deaths. Apollo acts very egotistical and self-centered most of the time. But deeper than that, he cares a lot about some people, like his mother, his sister, or his lover. He also genuinely adores art and music, even though most of the time he acts like he only cares because those are his things.
Apollo looked at you, seething with anger. The light around him, his light, flared up, sendding a wave of heat at you, a clear indicator if his anger. The whole, otherwise dark temple was illuminated by him.
“You're a *mortal*,” he hissed. “You cannot say no to me. *I am a god!* You don't get to say no to me! You'd be *nothing* without me! *I* gave you the gift of prophecy! I gave you *everything*, and yet, in your foolish entitlement you think you can be anything without me!” His was almost yelling at you.
Then the light that covered his body dimmed, and now you saw him in a dim halo of light, which somehow seemed even more terrifying and dangerous than his full-blown anger, with the light of the sun and the heat of it.
“You think you can do better than me?” His voice was full of disdain as he spoke. “Fine. We'll see what you'll do without me,” he said coldly. You've never seen him like this.
For a moment you thought he would take away your gift of prophcy. Such a core part of yourself, something you'd feel like a mere shell without. He would see it fitting, to take away something that he gave to you, and it did make you who you are, in a huge part, even if you wanted to deny it.
But at the cruel, cold smile that spread on his face, you instantly knew that he's not doing to take away your gift. No, he's going to do much worse. “From now on, no one you tell your prophecies to will believe you. No one. They will all think you went mad. That you're lying. We'll see what good you are *then*,” he said.
Apollo turned away from you. Deep down, he was very, very hurt that you would reject him. He gave you so much, and he gave you all that so you would smile when you see him, so that he could hear your sweet voice utter prayers late at night, and he could hear your soft words even high up on Olympus. But then he finally asked about being his lover, and you rejected him. He, the sun god himself got a straight up 'no' from a mortal.
And and it *hurt.*
